ESN Trabzon

Karadeniz Technical University Erasmus Club was founded in November, 2014. We became an ESN (Erasmus Student Network) in October, 2015 and we got the name of ESN Trabzon. Since the beginning of our foundation, we have been working to help our incoming and also outgoing students with big pleasure. We, as ESN Trabzon, try to make our erasmus students' experiences unforgettable with lots of events which include long and short distance trips such as Cappadocia, Ordu, Samsun, Giresun, Batumi, Ayder/Rize, social activities, parties and so on. By SocialErasmus and ExchangeAbility projects, our Erasmus students can raise awareness for society which probably will be their best experience during their exchange term. Erasmus Student Network Trabzon-ESN Trabzon became really famous with SocialErasmus and ExchangeAbility projects among ESNs. The example of this success is that we won two awards from StarAwards in last NP where we were also the host of that event together with ESN Samsun. Besides, we were selected as the section of the month in January, 2017. We have been trying to improve ourselves and making ESN uprise since our foundation and we will continue to do better than before. You have our word. Keep following us because the best ones are yet to come.

Founded on 20 May 1955, Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) is the fourth oldest university in Turkey, and the first university established outside İstanbul and Ankara. With about 80 departments in 17 faculties, seven institutes, four higher education schools, about 50 programs in 13 vocational schools, many research and application centres, about 2150 teaching staff (with about 900 holding Ph.D.s), and about 60,000 students, Karadeniz Technical University is one of the largest universities in Turkey. Teaching language at Karadeniz Technical University is mainly Turkish. However, the increasing demand towards having courses in English has been taken into consideration by the administration. Recent developments include acceptance of new departments into Obligatory English Preparatory Programme before the commencement of the degree programme. For exchange students separate classes can be arranged in English should they ask for it. We encourage all the exchange students to include a course of Basic Turkish Language in their learning agreement. Karadeniz Technical University, which is one of the first universities in Turkey to join the Socrates-Erasmus program, matched with Gent University in Belgium, obtained Erasmus charter in 2003. Since then, the number of bilateral agreements and the number of outgoing and incoming exchange students have increased steadily.
